Eh-uuup! We've found all the earlier posts you lot..mmm? what can jump in with??
I fully agree (again) with Sandman's post. I'm a firm believer that the MIB know most bars have a Skandi-owner, & that on every occasion when his little Teerak rings him & tells him "Oh mai-dee, police come, we do bad thing with new TV you buy for me in bar, no,no..90,000b TV work well, but we not have licence from them, now I had to pay 30,000b or me & my girls all in Monkey-house" The MIB know whatever poxy scam they dream-up & hit the bars with..mai-pen-rai, the bar will pay,cos Hans,Lasse,Helmut, from Sweden,Norway etc will 4wrd another lump of cash to keep his little lady happy. (running the bar he got for her so he knows she not need to sleep with any other Farang now).
HOW TO SPOT THESE BARS...all girls sat outside around table,Thai music blasting out, no customers each night, girls enjoying Sangsom/soda..bottle + ice bucket on table..no worries,- rent & key-money paid for by Ting-tong farang..no need to sell beer, lady-boss take her girls Hilton when Sangsom mort. (Sorry, back to the plot..I'm ranting again..oops).

What time to England start their losing game today??

Unfortunately US you are spot on, as is SM. It is just a few steps on from "the buffalo is sick" and "my mum needs an operation" I have lost count of how many people I have seen that are not even streetwise enough to walk to the local shop buying a bar in Thailand and getting ripped off left, right and centre. Gave up trying to tell them years ago. If you cannot spot a scam or a "wrongun" then you will get burned anywhere in the world. Sad but true.

Blimy we go from paying for footbal commentary (legal or otherwise) to blaming all for everything .
So if you all agree is it a "Golden Goose" having a bar or being a "Muppet"????.
Glad to see you all enjoy life in Hua Hin

Try this one - it's advertised there at any rate:

Dunno about our mate Crazy 88, but I'm renowned for being a grumpy old bugger..ha-ha!! :-)

Well for what its worth, pubs and clubs in the UK have to have a special licence to broadcast live sports, paid to the broadcasting company I believe.

Gotta be honest that when I'm in a pub watching footy, the chat and banter around me is far more fun and drowns out the inane comments of the TV pundits.

Kick me in the head for saying but:
Commentators will only tell you the obvious that you can already see and give you someone to moan about unless its the admirable Martin Tyler
You go to a live match and there are no commentators spruiking in yer ear.
Watching the world cup in a quiet bar does need some atmosphere if you have no mates to give their viewpoint. So see the TV match in a crowded loud bar sneaking a look between some heads

What web site are you streaming the commentary from?

Thanks.
To be honest, we've used various Mr P. We'll be using Radio 5 Live for tonights game - no problem to access using an internet radio, however if accessing via a PC you may have to go through a UK VPN due to the cr@ppy licensing laws in the UK.
