We have quite a few threads on this, as well as mace and stun guns, going back to 2007-2009 era. What I found on them said "top floor of Market Village, Grand Market and Night Market.."

Will leave it to someone more familiar if still available in those places and better details as to which shops. Pete

I was last at the beach in november, we like to lay on the beach just past Paleo's beach bar, but close enough to still get served a beer :D there where a number of dogs obviously being fed by the bar but these dogs wont really bother you and if they do just ask for assistance from the horse men.
I did notice that the rasta dude at the bar :rasta: was showing off a litter of puppys about 2 weeks old.

Dotx i have seen wild dogs 6km down the beach at monkey mountain.
I would not advise that you go down the route of a pepper spray because if more than one dog was trying to attack you could end up spraying yourself and becoming very vunrable.
From my own experiance of spending time in my wifes Issan village where you cant walk around at night without a bamboo stick because the dogs come out from all the houses and wild packs run through the villages.
my wife first told me "never think two time, if dog go's to bite you, you hit it very strong across the head" i was a bit taken back by this but she is right you have to be prepared for this.

Kendo.

I'll take a walk near the Hilton, then. Seems like that's a better choice. I think it's better if I try it without my dog first. If I spot strays walking around, then that's it.

I was given similar advice before going out for a walk.....only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun.............and the Englishman should carry a stick to fend off any mad dogs....

Yes, you wouldn't want risking your and your dog's safety. :D
