Sorry Jimbob, no runs, no hits, 3 errors. :D Pete

EDIT: Clues....all three were the first to do something in modern times. All three have a significant place in history, the last two more so than the first. If anyone on here knows who #1 is, it should be Norseman.

The first one is explorer and writer Thor Heyerdahl (Kon-Tiki) and the last one is Yuri Gagarin the first Cosmonaut in space.
Don't know the man in the middle.

Two in the bag! :thumb: Besides Kon-Tiki fame, Heyerdahl developed some interesting theories about how the Pacific Islands and western South America were originally populated. Many historians have poo-pooed his theories, but they seem to have logic based upon his direct experiences.

Gargarin was the first man in space and passed away at the young age of 34 in a military jet crash in Russia. Pete

Bingo! The first man to climb Everest, per recorded history. That photo was probably taken not long before he passed away in 2008. Pete
