Expat newspaper editor murdered in Hua Hin

That is the 'official' stance on the matter, yes.

You make it sound somewhat doubtful. In a way, you hope that something like that wasn't just over a few quid, and that there was a more substantial reason (whatever that might be). But at least some degree of justice has been seen to have been done.

Buksida is probably easily within bounds to use the inverted commas/apostrophe approach with that one, ie that's what the official line is and the length, and professionalism, of the investigation could probably be parodied easily with regards to credibility. Sarcasm is excusable on this one and a few other fronts too as it (real investigation) is obviously lacking in so many cases unless it has real political value. There have been recent, sad and gross examples of this systematic attitude held by the relevant agencies in a few cases.
Surely you are not going to tell me you have absolute confidence in the judicial and crime investigation systems here......are you?

Christ no! And my comment wasn't critical of Buksi's mode of expression - just enquiring as to whether that was felt to be the whole story, or merely an official nicety.
As I said, in some ways I would like to feel that there *was* more to it, than simply being a random act accompanying somone's need to get a few baht, for whatever purpose. However, in the light of recent events in the UK, I suppose my expectations are somewhat ambitious even at that abject level.
