Here we are a few months later.
I obviously have way too much time on my hands at the moment and have just stumbled across Celebrity Big Brother.
Somehow they have managed to persuade the Michael Madson to join them (apparently he asked Vinnie Jones for his opinion!), but he's the only person I've ever heard of.

There is one Natasha Giggs "in the house".
Obviously, by her very presence, a celebrity.
Why?
Because she was married to Ryan Giggs' brother and had an affair with the man himself for 8 years!!!
She decided to tell all when Giggsy got done for screwing some B-list tart, so she sold her story to a paper.
Before the story appeared, she told her husband she was taking the kids on holiday to Spain.
He found out by reading the paper.
Her husband found out by reading it in the newspaper.
She's now appearing on tv as a celebrity.
The world has gone quite bonkers.

Hah, don`t get me started. I see these faces on tv and ask the younger ones in the family, who is that? What did they do to get famous and become a "celebrity" The answer when it comes shows the "celebrity" has no discernable talent other than having their face in the "celebrity" magazines.

Oh, I plan to get you going and keep you there! (said the actress to the bishop...)

I'm only mildly ashamed to admit I was so horrified by this programme that I watched some of it (including a very tasty pair of American twin ex-Playboy Mansion residents).

Another of the celebrities was a young man who could barely string a comprehensible sentence together. I've forgotten his name, but he'd appeared in The Only Way Is Essex, whatever that is.
His "task" was to identify some countries on a map of the world.
He managed Essex (yes, I know it's not), but had no idea where the USA, Australia, Jamaica and South Africa were. And I mean no idea at all.
He clearly had no conception of the composition of our planet, or of the shape or whereabouts of the different continents.
He also had a remarkably poor collection of chat-up lines, but I suppose that's beside the point...

Unfortunately I fear that could be down to the UK's education system. My son's most recent ex was considered by many as being very intelligent. She would have managed the USA, but it would have ended there. She definitely wouldn't have known where Essex was.

Mr. DM watching Celebrity Big Brother :tsk: Did you only watch a teensy-weensy bit of it or are you hooked?

I find it rather sad that so-called celebrities seem to be rather proud of the fact that they're a bit fick. What a wonderful role model for the younger generation! Forget about studying at school and then getting a steady job. Just try and get on the X-factor or any of the other reality programmes, make a total idiot of yourself, and BINGO!! You're an instant celeb, with a heallthy income.

Totally agree but, they seem to be able to make a good living for a short while. I read somewhere that an X-Factor reject, Frankie de something or other is in Big brother. What a grubby looking, grubby minded indiviual he is. They are encouraged by a low-life low-intelligence audience. Can`t blame them for cashing in I suppose.

Some years ago, during a sleepless night, I was flicking through the channels and stubble across Big Brother, it was so boring. The whole thing for the 2 mins I watched it was focused on a bedroom with someone sleeping, not moving a muscle :? Yes, this is a bright programme

I must confess to watching some strictly Come Dancing, that is a different thing altogether :thumb:

I'm so disgusted with reality TV. Half the (English) channels here now run it nearly full time one after another. The only one I've ever enjoyed was the original one; Survivor. They are cheap and easy to make and that's why the studios push them... no stars to be paid and even if you offer a big prize like a million bucks, the entire series costs less to produce than one episode of a normal program.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Some of us would beg to differ! :tsk:

I was compelled to watch through gritted teeth the 1st episode of dancing on ice last night - or whatever it is called? I can honestly say I knew none of the 'celebrities' barring the skier returning from a serious injury.

However, I knew 2 of the judges, from their distinguished pasts, Torville & Dean obviously and the 2 presenters, one of whom is Lamps other half!

But it was tedious.

Hooked? Certainly not. I'm offended that you should even suggest the possibility. I can stop whenever I want.

Episode 4 is now available for download from TheBox.
