Durian is a foul tasting mess, I hesitate to call it a fruit as it is so bad. I don't know about Thailand, but in Singapore you are not allowed to bring them on public transport as the smell is so bad and most taxi drivers will not entertain you with one either.
:tsk:
Whilst I would agree that the smell is pretty bad, I don't think the taste is so bad, I have tasted far worse and wouldn't go as far as spitting it out. As the saying goes, one mans food is another ones poison!!

Many years ago, my wife bought a small one in Chinatown in London ---- 25 pound!!!
Needless to say, when she brought it home, her and her daughter ate it in the garden. It was February!!!!

I don't see what all the fuss is about with the "King of fruit", it stinks, the texture is foul and it doesn't taste all that great either.

The GF loves it, Son eats it but its not for me. Jackfruit is another I can leave.

Love the stuff. I freeze it then run it through a sorbet maker, sprinkle with almond chips. Divine! :thumb:

Peanut butter & jam on toast, great way to kick start your day.

Ice cream on bread seems to be universal all over SE Asia and with that many people eating it, I guess there must be something to it, but a bit too sweet for me I'm afraid. :tsk:
