......do not contribute to the UK either through Taxes (in the form of personal taxation, VAT etc) or in being a Consumer and contributing to the UK economy whether it is to the Public Sector (the NHS for example) or the private sector (goods and services), by living in the UK.
I don't agree with it as I probably be in the same boat one day but unfortunately this is the crux of the matter, pensions paid overseas is money lost to the economy as a whole. In other countries, there will be some retirees leaving and taking their pensions overseas and others coming from elsewhere and brining their pensions in, so overall there is little effect on the economy but how many outsiders choose the UK as a retirement destination?

DB i understand that i must pay tax

But as i see it this is fundamentaly wrong on many levels

1.- I paid into a COMPULSORY scheme exactely the same as those that do get the raises i therefore should get treated the same, NO ONE ever said but dont leave the country. and i was never given an option to opt out
2.- A lot of those that do get the raises pay no tax at all but get benefits to make up their income costing the taxpayer even more To say nothing of the huge cost to the NHS
3.- Having to pay tax but not recieve the raises means with both the taxes i pay plus the raises i dont recieve i am paying not only for the pensions of the above but also have to pay for their rises and their benefits as well. To say nothing about the savings to the NHS i contribute to
4.- People in say Barbados/Jamaica for examples get the rises but are still as STeve G puts it is money lost to the economy as a whole.
5.- If a private pension fund had this discriminaton in its fund it would be sued successfully but would probably go bust toot sweet quick

Sarge please don't shout at me but I'm surprised you didn't realise this was going to happen? It's been a topic several times on here. That doesn't make it right but it is law....I think I'd better sign that petition now.... :duck:

Mags i would never shout at you

To be honest i did not think i would get any where near as much as i have and to be honest again it seemed immaterial to me with the previous mindset to take much notice

It wasnt until i read the bumf that it hit home just how UNJUST it really is
Add the coincidence of Kate and Drummond and my postman
It also seemed a lost cause or another of those wrongs that just never get put right but now we have an avenue ie the vote i urge everybody tell people and even help them vote

Strange that. Maybe there's a slight delay when tallying up the signatures? :?
