Hopefully it was normal Mr P tongue in cheek - I'm sure he will only buy what he needs and leave plenty for other forum readers!!wenshidi wrote:Please leave one for me too.
After all, I had not asked the question and started this thread then you would not have heard about this cheap source

Ok. I have checked your bargain and without wishing to cause offence (well... just a little bitDannie Boy wrote:Please leave at least one for me

The price was the first clue. 170 bht versus the brand right next to it, which is 555 per litre.
The colour was the second clue. Looks like somebody emptied their sump, mixed it with water, then bottled it. Dirty brown isn't a colour I'd like as a present from LOS.
The third clue was the USDA Organic label, which is about as credible as a Nobel Peace prize.
Finally, it does tell you it's a cooking oil and not for any other use.
Personally, any oil that cannot be rubbed into the skin or consumed, should never be used for cooking.
I've left it all for you. Dip your bread in.

Re: coconut oil
In Pattaya, there were loads of shops selling small plastic bottles for 120 Baht.
Can I find those somewhere in Hua Hin at the same price?

They were probably 100cc. Golden Place do them in strong glass bottles, for about the same price. I think they would make a nice gift.wenshidi wrote:In Pattaya, there were loads of shops selling small plastic bottles for 120 Baht.

If you want better value for money buy me a chunk of Brie cheese, so I can make some Brie and Grape baguettes and I'll provide some organic oil. I can knock up a 'MrPlum's Genuine Coconut Oil' label on the computer.
Fair swap?

Well each to their own - I bought it for cooking with, rather than rubbing it on my or anybody else's body or any other use, and I had no adverse reaction from it, either in taste or affect. By all means buy your super-duper variation at 500 baht, then you can feel at ease when you dip your own bread (or anything else) in it.MrPlum wrote:Ok.
