Thanks guys for your feedback!

I will then try to aim for a car with less equipment(cheaper) and try to negotiate more equipment on top of it.

I tried recently over the last month, none would move on list price. But all would do deals on extras

Is this an urban myth that has become a fact?
I was led to understand that it was part of the contract that the dealership had with the manufacturer but I suppose they can break that contract to make a sale if they think it's worth it.

I believe prices are fixed for all the different variants, for example a friend wanted an accord in white. Was told they only did the top of the line with the NAV in white, other colours less pricey. That was how it was delivered from the factory.

Also, prices are fixed, but the discounts/extras come out of the (salesperson's) commission. Different salespersons can give you different deals even in the same dealership. Don't forget that each salesperson works on individual commission. If he can move more units at a lower percentage, he (or she) can still make it up in volume...

The best deals to be had if there are any is at the motorshow in bkk. 0% financing is the main one.
