Green Nomad
I went to Cha Am yesterday and found said model shop, also looking for wing covering material.
Shop is located behind wet market in small soi. Head towards railway, market on LH, car park on RH, turn left immediatly after market.
The only tape he had was about 3" wide in several colors looked like it was for patching RTF models. I asked if he had a supplier to get some large sheets of solar film but it seems that he was only selling the stock he had.
He had a wall with "spares" but they all looked to be for light electric "foamies". I almost have a better stock from years of visiting Slough model shop on my way back to Saudi through LHR.
Went on to Phetchaburi but that model shop now seems to have shut.
Adverts in Thai RC Mag show only a couple of shops in Bangkok which carry wing covering material, most deal in ARTF or RTF. This will be my next try but failing this will try importing. Or maybe I will revert to tissue paper or silk as a covering!
While in Saudi used Tower Hobbies, massive, very detailed online cataloge, uses a "carrier" for delivery, which eventually got order through customs, not sure how this would work in Thailand.
Only problem is verfying credit card, US seem to have their own system. But this only took a couple of days, their sales team are very efficient.
Seem to remember that Slough is also set up to do postal delivery, although I have never used it.

Cyberpete

Nothing in HH.

If you are staying in BK for any length of time, pick up a copy of RC flying (60 Baht). All in Thai but has many adverts to shops which all have LiPos. You may find something close to hotel.

Failing this, look at hobbythai.com and click English link. I have not used them, but they say that they are half an hour from airport and have a printable map for taxi driver, they also advertise T Rex, I'm sure the $ sign used on web site should be prices in Baht.

Failing this, I have a couple of 11.1v 2,000 (ish) mAh LiPos which I would be willing to lend for the duration, don't know what your set up is?. Also have two chargers one 12v the other 12v + mains and one balancer which works, happy for you to borrow.

Did you notice whether or not he sold anything like the old 'Kiel Craft' balsa wood model aircraft kits ? - Or any type of balsa aircraft plans and kit forms?
Another old thread, but may still be of interest.

A week ago I went for an evening cycle-ride up round the back of the 'elephant village' on the Black Mountain road..on your left is a patch of bare ground...about 4 SUVs were parked just off the road & 3-4 planes buzzing round & round..I don't know if this was a one-off meeting? but these Thai guys would answer your Q's no doubt....

There's also someone that flies them out around the Soi 94 end of the back road that connects Soi 94 to the upper end of Soi 102. I usually see them flying on Sundays, but for some reason not for the last couple of weeks.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

I never saw the people on the ground but I could see two and sometimes three planes in the air (from my house) in the area indicated by the cursor on the following map. There are empty fields over there and just the road (and it's rough) so I have no idea how or where they were landing them. As I said I saw them on several sundays late in the afternoon, but not for the last few. I'll keep watch and see if I see them on any regular basis and post if I see them again.

I hope you can read the map; sorry about the resolution but the forum engine kept making me shrink the attachment to the size allowed until the resolution became poor. Double click it and you'll get a clearer image for some reason.
