This was done by clicking the quote button on the top right and then deleteing the txt I did not want. I then edit what looks like this. I have added spaces this time just after the [ character so that you can see what is there. If you take the spaces away again it will look just like the quote repeated. If it is not exactly right it will not work.

still thanks for the pm i will try and read it again[ /quote]

I look forward to meeting you at Johnnie Walker's opening bash where you will have the pleasure of meeting many of these posters and some of the moderators.

I will be the one in the revealing low cut Black Sequinned Dress with Red Patent Leather Shoes.

As for Big Boys suggestion. it is what I do myself but ther are many out there who have not yet discovered the power of the CTRL key yet. I still don't know what that f***ing Windows sign button does except cause grief. Good place for left over superglue though.

:lach: Can't wait to see that one! Glad you told us, as I'd hate not to recognise you. The last HHAD party was a long time ago! :thumb:

The Windows key is no problem, I just ignore it, but the problem I have is that I bought my computer on the continent and I have a Franco-Belgium keyboard (and no, I’m not joking) which has a line of strange letters at the top, which are no use whatsoever, and you have to shift to get numbers. If you want any of the more exotic symbols, or punctuation marks, you have to stab keys at random for five minutes until you strike it lucky. Also using windows in English causes it to repeatedly revert to a standard keyboard which means that when you type in English it comes out in complete gobbledygook which is neither English, French nor Belgium!

This is obviously the type of keyboard that sargeant is using.

What are you on now sargeant?
When will you start to write some intelligible English?

I quote: "I am felling very very itch ahh guess has got a poto".

What are you felling and do you have some skin disease?
I intend to live forever - so far so good.

Oh, your profile & installing an avatar. Understand, now. JD has the spinning avatar, not JW. To change your location you click "Profile" at the very top of the page. Then you can change any of the info on there that you want. The avatar is also done through that, but being a total technophobe myself, I don't know how to do it - you have to "bring" it from another site. There is the option of taking one from the gallery, but there aren't any in the gallery! Maybe someone else can explain to Sarge & myself how to sort out an avatar? In idiot terms, for me, please! :thumb:

I can't as, although mine is a laptop, I'm on dial up internet connection (cr@ppy one, at that!) If there are the wireless signals in the area, somebody may be able to (or by connecting to their mobile) but I think most people will just be going down for fun & not taking their laptops - sand in the workings!

If it's just for getting round the HHAD site, I'll meet up with you one afternoon next week & show you. I've worked out nearly everything (except for the avatar!! ) If you want general "geek" tips, then you're far better off speaking to Buksida, WL, Norseman, Guess, JD, Lomu....in fact virtually anyone else!!  I'm sure a few of them will be at the beach.

JD helped me!! Tell me an afternoon that's good & I'll come round to show you. Still can't do JDs and WL's smileys, though - I guess it's the same concept. I'll have to mess about a bit more...
