I was given a big paper bag at HH VM today too!!Nereus wrote:Is today some type of "plastic bag free day" in Thailand? Utter turmoil in BigC where I shop in Bangkok this morning.
The girl offered a cardboard box, and then snuck a couple of small bags out from under the counter.
Next went to Villa Market and my goods were put into a big brown paper bag. Nothing against doing away with plastic bags, but it would be good to know beforehand if they are banned.
Because Makro is not in the family consumer market! They are primarily a bulk product supplier.
Firstly, read the frigging post! I asked if it was some special day today. Why would you need a day by day warning when a store is not going to issue plastic bags. Take the bull by the horns and take responsibility yourself. It's not rocket science.

You answered that here:And lastly, you do not know if I usually take my own bags or not!

A little more than asking if it's a special day if you're then going to complain about 'no warning'Nothing against doing away with plastic bags, but it would be good to know beforehand if they are banned.
I agree that they sell many things in bulk. However, it very much caters for the family as is evidenced by many customers there. Have a look around the next time you're there.Because Makro is not in the family consumer market!
Not true. But you can look at the facts yourself without me pointing you to them.Secondly, it is NOT the plastic shopping bags that are the major problem per se, it is the continuous use of small plastic bags for ready to eat food and drinks, in most cases made from much thicker plastic, that need to be banned.
Ok, thank you. Something like this was posted awhile ago, but it has never happened.hhinner wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2019 2:17 pmEvery 4th of the month.Nereus wrote:Is today some type of "plastic bag free day" in Thailand? Utter turmoil in BigC where I shop in Bangkok this morning.
