I very much doubt that trying to report to the local police will fly. More so in those places that have an Immigration office anywhere near. And it has been reported elsewhere that somebody that attempted it in a Northern province had the report thrown in the bin in front of them at a small local police station!
What about this then:
Our late member Bristolian(RIP),worked in Bangkok and lived in Hua Hin. Every Monday he drove to Bangkok for work, and every weekend he stayed in Hua Hin. I would not be surprised if there are other similar "aliens". So according to this BS he broke the law every week!
I myself am in a similar position, although I no longer work. If I am in Bangkok it will take up most of one day, plus expressway tolls, if I attempt to go to the Immigration office in Chaeng Wattana. In Hua Hin it probably does not matter, because I stay in a Hotel.
I have looked at that online reporting site and all I can see is Thai script. Despite what some people suggest, not everybody has a Thai speaker OR reader in his house.
The site that Buksida posted, and already mentioned again in another post, may be better advertised if it was to have its own thread, or added as a sticky?
Dannie Boy wrote:I posted this a couple of weeks back, but when I went to the Tha Yang Immigration office for my re-entry stamp I asked whether I needed to report within 24 hours after my return and was told there’s no need - it must be just if you go from one province to another - if you leave the country and providing you return to your registered address then effectively Immigration at BKK check you back in.
This may well be correct, but it is NOT clear on the circus poster, nor it appears, what is being interpreted by SOME Immigration officers.
