Yup, I'm one of them.
STEVE G 4 litres later...
That really doesn't surprise me - the LHG and I are seriously lucky where we live quite honestly. Edge of "Chepstow Town" in the Wye Valley, close to a small wood and fields to take a quick walk, <5 mins drive from Tesco (generally fully stocked - well at 6am anyway) so not too much cr@p or many Muppets. It's not a hardship for us as it is for many, many others, just wish advice could be heeded (would help with less political games).
Glad you're away from the hustle and bustle at the moment, mate. And I extend that sentiment to all forum members that are. Is no fun living in a capital city waiting for its 'peak'. Especially one that has a completely fractured community with large pockets of different nationalities, beliefs and morals. No fun at all.pharvey wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2020 2:58 amThat really doesn't surprise me - the LHG and I are seriously lucky where we live quite honestly. And of course, I do order some wine and cider online - unfortunately the LHG has control!!
Stay well & keep safe to all! This is far from finished, despite what we're told.
Well yes (but I'm also guilty), there are 1 or 2 photo's and comments that should be in the "Coronavirus Humour Thread", but the whole alcohol issue is serious and quite frankly I don't see an issue with posting here (along with the odd jest - it gets attention).
I agree. I'm being polite so I don't get canned again.pharvey wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2020 3:11 amWell yes (but I'm also guilty), there are 1 or 2 photo's and comments that should be in the "Coronavirus Humour Thread", but the whole alcohol issue is serious and quite frankly I don't see an issue with posting here (along with the odd jest - it gets attention).
I would say that the younger generation are less likely to die - perhaps a difference in terminology, but trust me ALL generations will not only be expected to pay, but WILL PAY for this!
Spot on. The effects of this are going to last for a fair few years.
I'm a Welsh Rugby fan, so always optimistic, but let's be fair, the lockdown has not been in place for an extended period quite frankly and we're (well, UK Government) are already saying it's working. Sorry, but NO. We only have data in comparison to other countries (which is quite frankly misleading at times), however we have different stains of the virus as it has mutated (proven). We still have lack of testing, lockdowns etc., etc. - On this one "Lost" don't get your hopes up..... Sadly, I've now gone to "Pessimistic Mode"Lost wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2020 3:25 am Back to the virus, our death rate in UK has dropped for the last 2 days. Our curve is beginning to flatten already, but this can change over the next few days as we have seen with Italy and Spain. The NHS is more than competent to deal with the current flow. But they are already refusing ventilators to those who, to be crass 'don't have much hope of survival'.
There is some hope in the figures. Lockdown seems to be doing its job. But...
