... in fact judging by my colleagues and my experience of lockdown, the alcohol consumption might kill us before Covid!
The conspiracy theorists amongst us may believe that this is a part of the plan.

Joking apart, it's "silly doors" in some places. A very good friend of mine is a heating engineer who has been called out on "emergencies" (the usual burst pipes, heating, boilers etc.) and to be honest, the cr@p he has witnessed is quite something - Pi$$heads galore apparently.

Threatened with violence because he didn't pick-up a few beers on his way - spat at even. Refusal to pay because the customer was in "lockdown" and wasn't earning, a shed load of verbal abuse... it goes on.

Where was this? Mainly Bristol and the outskirts plus some in Bath (which does surprise me) - God know's what it's like in London (plenty of Muppets there - you'll have to admit "Lost") and other major cities. He's at the point now where he's going to refuse to do the work - the minority have fcuked the majority yet again with their idiotic attitude! :cuss: :banghead:

His attitude however, was not the money, but to help - when will the Muppets learn?

I've just started the 5L box and it's Portuguese, tastes better than that Mt Claire stuff that they sell in Thailand.

Yup, I'm one of them. :D

In all seriousness, some of the behaviour I've seen here is shocking. I've had to call the police twice in the last week.

That really doesn't surprise me - the LHG and I are seriously lucky where we live quite honestly. Edge of "Chepstow Town" in the Wye Valley, close to a small wood and fields to take a quick walk, <5 mins drive from Tesco (generally fully stocked - well at 6am anyway) so not too much cr@p or many Muppets. It's not a hardship for us as it is for many, many others, just wish advice could be heeded (would help with less political games).

And of course, I do order some wine and cider online - unfortunately the LHG has control!!

Stay well & keep safe to all! This is far from finished, despite what we're told.

Glad you're away from the hustle and bustle at the moment, mate. And I extend that sentiment to all forum members that are. Is no fun living in a capital city waiting for its 'peak'. Especially one that has a completely fractured community with large pockets of different nationalities, beliefs and morals. No fun at all.

Well yes (but I'm also guilty), there are 1 or 2 photo's and comments that should be in the "Coronavirus Humour Thread", but the whole alcohol issue is serious and quite frankly I don't see an issue with posting here (along with the odd jest - it gets attention).

It's a serious point that there is a younger generation that aren't really very likely to die of this who are being expected to pay for it.

I agree. I'm being polite so I don't get canned again. :D

Back to the virus, our death rate in UK has dropped for the last 2 days. Our curve is beginning to flatten already, but this can change over the next few days as we have seen with Italy and Spain. The NHS is more than competent to deal with the current flow. But they are already refusing ventilators to those who, to be crass 'don't have much hope of survival'.

There is some hope in the figures. Lockdown seems to be doing its job. But...

I would say that the younger generation are less likely to die - perhaps a difference in terminology, but trust me ALL generations will not only be expected to pay, but WILL PAY for this!

My hope is that this generation can recover enough for the next.

Spot on. The effects of this are going to last for a fair few years.

I'm a Welsh Rugby fan, so always optimistic, but let's be fair, the lockdown has not been in place for an extended period quite frankly and we're (well, UK Government) are already saying it's working. Sorry, but NO. We only have data in comparison to other countries (which is quite frankly misleading at times), however we have different stains of the virus as it has mutated (proven). We still have lack of testing, lockdowns etc., etc. - On this one "Lost" don't get your hopes up..... Sadly, I've now gone to "Pessimistic Mode"

Sorry if that offends anyone but my colleagues are very much younger than me and they bombard me with stuff like that!
