There's one thing we can say with surety I believe, and that's we're lucky to be in the country we are in. I until quite recently was very skeptical of the numbers the Thai Gov was putting out and if a cover-up was in place. I feel comfortable now that so far Thailand has dodged a bullet, and long may it continue. So, we have relative freedom to do what we want here and go where we want to go, even though in some places Thais may panic at the sight of a western face and make the experience unpleasant.
Much of my frustration comes from the inability of seeing my US based kids and grandkids, and their inability to come here. Again, if you're over 65, and even more so if over 70, the importance of seeing children and grandchildren takes on an urgency.
HHTel jokingly complains about months with his grandkids, but he is a lucky man indeed and will surely miss them when they are gone.

He's establishing a bond with those kids that will never be broken.
