Jeremy Clarkson returning to Top Gear to honor late host Sabine Schmitz

For the first time since 2015, Jeremy Clarkson will be appearing on Top Gear. It's for a bittersweet occasion, though: Clarkson will appear on an upcoming tribute episode to racing driver and occasional Top Gear host Sabine Schmitz, who died of cancer last month.

Clarkson abruptly exited the car-focused TV series in 2015 following a physical altercation with a producer. His co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May quit in response, joining Clarkson on a new series called The Grand Tour for Amazon Prime.

In their absence, Top Gear added new hosts, like Friends star Matt LeBlanc and Schmitz, who had appeared on the show in the past but became a part of the presenting team after the shakeup.

Later this week, BBC One will air its tribute episode to "the Queen of the Nürburgring," a nickname Schmitz earned for her love for the famous German racing circuit.

"Terrible news about Sabine Schmitz," Clarkson wrote after news of Schmitz's death broke in March. "Such a sunny person and so full of beans."

I believe it's on Beeb 1 tonight at 7.30BST so should be available to download in the am tomorrow here.

The back story of Alfred, Batman's butler (definitely the Michael Caine version - Jack Bannon as Alfred even sounds like Caine) after he leaves the SAS. It's set in a quasi-dystopian London in the 1960s (-ish, like Gotham City there's an element of dark fantasy). I'm only on episode 4 (of 10 in season 1, season 2 is currently screening), but I'm enjoying it very much.

The pilot is available on Amazon Prime, I downloaded the rest from eztv.
Just watching s02 e09. This programme is worth watching for the Bannon/Caine connection alone, without it being an impersonation, but it's excellent on so many levels.

Oh look, Amazon has a new series about Leonardo da Vinci! (Sateeb, he's a famous old Italian artist, not the American actor who starred in The Beach.) Being a sophisticated and intelligent sort of chap, I thought that would be right up my street. And then I read this...

I might still give it a go, if only for a laugh!

I remember watching the first season a few years ago, and have just rediscovered it and downloaded S2 & 3 - American Gods. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1898069/
Worth watching just for Ian McShane and the colourful language!

Got Pennyworth S1 and that will be next.

Also downloading S1 of For All Mankind, where the Russians beat the US to the moon in the late 60s. Could be interesting. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7772588/

For All Mankind is very good and continues to be strong in season 2.

I enjoyed S1 of Pennyworth but thought it just got silly in S2.

I'm a bit of a novice on pirating, I've done it but I'm still finding my way

Where can I get get The Bureau S3, 4,5?

It's a French geopolitical espionage drama. Slow burner but quite addictive.

I know its on amazon prime but have to pay(or trial one their sister services)

Point is, it's not on pirate bay(S1 & 2 were but not the rest...)

Any links appreciated

TIA

Cheers

I’ve watched two out of three episodes of a drama called “From there to here” starring Philip Glenister, really enjoying it and it has a number of different issues it deals with (drug running and the IRA, infidelity, England’s 1996 Euro Games) and more. I’m watching it on Prime TV although I’m sure it’s available to download.

Looks interesting. I was working around Manchester at that time and it was after my first visit to Thailand at the end of '96 that I became disillusioned with life in the UK.
