You just don't know with sinovac, as the reports of its efficacy vary. The WHO and other real life feedback is pretty good. Trials, like the Brazilian one I assume you are quoting from, less so.

Need to correct my earlier post. 1 person had had both sinovac jabs, the other hasn't had any jab. That's the lady working at a different site. Her symptoms seem nasty - dizziness, sickness, hot and sweaty. The one who had both jabs had a very high temperature, but no other symptoms. Both are currently being assessed and having tests, before being sent to the appropriate treatment centre.

In Thailand? I thought the Govt. were saying 'no deaths tied to Covid-19 vaccines but investigation still ongoing'
The two statements are not contraditory. Dying after having been vaccinated doesn't mean the deaths have been linked to the vaccination. One thing a vaccine doesn't do, is make you immortal. People who were vaccinated will still tend to die at the same rate and from the same causes as the general public.

The Brazil trials do give an efficacy of slightly over 50% whereas the real life study in Chile was 67%.

The WHO seem to take the lower efficacy in their bulletins:
WHO’s Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization (SAGE) has also completed its review of the vaccine. On the basis of available evidence, WHO recommends the vaccine for use in adults 18 years and older, in a two-dose schedule with a spacing of two to four weeks. Vaccine efficacy results showed that the vaccine prevented symptomatic disease in 51% of those vaccinated and prevented severe COVID-19 and hospitalization in 100% of the studied population.

It's not been said that they are vaccine related. The jury is still out while the majority, still under investigation, produces the data. Out of the completed results of 20, 4 are inconclusive. Let's see what the final verdict is.

What's worrying, is that despite the fact they are meant to be producing AZ themselves, whilst also receiving millions of donations of AZ from both Japan and Korea, is that they are still buying sinovac by the million at a really expensive price, which makes no sense, apart from keeping CP happy, who have a 15% share of the drug in China. They truly have no shame.

Once again the BKK shows a picture of people waiting to be vaccinated, and once again it shows lots of people waiting and crowded together with no distancing. What do pictures like this say to the rest of the population who are encouraged social distance.

Sorry, off topic but the covid article was included in your link.

I can’t believe that you’re so surprised. Almost everyday somebody posts something on this Forum about something they’ve witnessed or heard that they find so surprising.

Surprised at this?

Dept reports 103 post-jab deaths in total
The Disease Control Department (DCD) on Thursday reported that 1,945 people fell ill and 103 others died after receiving various Covid-19 vaccines.

A probe has been completed into 42 of the deaths, and no link was made back to vaccines.

Chawetsan Namwat, director for emergency health hazard and disease control at the DCD, said that 7.9 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines had been administered, and as of Monday, 1,945 people, or 24.6 cases per 100,000 doses, fell ill from unexpected symptoms such as severe allergies, while 103 others, or 1.3 cases per 100,000 doses, died.

He said an investigation into the 103 deaths was launched, adding that in the 42 probes examined so far, specialists found the deaths were not related to the vaccines. The causes were coincidental, including 10 from heart disease, three by cerebral haemorrhage and the rest other causes.

He said 945 cases of serious side effects were reported, of which 327 have been examined by the specialists, while 618 remain under investigation. A total of 914 people, or about 27.09 cases per 100,000 doses, suffered side effects after receiving their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine, while 44 people, or about 1.3 cases per 100,000 doses, died, Dr Chawetsan said.

Two-hundred and forty-three people were hospitalised and seven died after receiving their second shot of the Sinovac vaccine, he said.

^^ So 44 of 103 people who died after vaccination were given Sinovac. What were the other 59 given? Obviously other causes are at play given that such high numbers weren't observed in places like UK.

I'm not surprised it happens. I'm surprised that it's publicised by newspapers and the like without any criticism. I've seen pictures from Tessabahns, local authorities and even some medical sites.

It probably conveys to many that it must be okay if 'they' do it.

^^ Sorry missed the 7 after a second Sinovac shot. So that's 51 after Sinovac and 52 after the other "various vaccines".

This was reported in the CCSA daily briefing yesterday. The above statement is not entirely true. The CCSA said yesterday that of those 40 that 4 were inconclusive which means the vaccine may have had a part. The other 60 are still under investigation.

Back to the “surprised” issue, you have to be aware that it’s an issue, and as we see so many times, they are often oblivious to the impact of their actions.

Sorry for taking the thread off topic!!
