I read that, and thought maybe a new feature of Windows. My machine is still relatively new, so I took a look to see if it still existed on mine. It appeared it was there, but when I clicked the button, it told me no File History.

Also try downloading an installing the specific Lenovo driver for the audio device instead of using the default Windows one.

I can't find a relevant one, only for vista, 7 & 8! Sent diagnostic report and asked for support from Windows support group

There are no options on mine. Just a message it's gone as an option!

All sorted now thanks. Reset all sound settings when the option was found and Edge was set to 5% of volume. No idea how that happened or why I couldn't find it?

Does anybody have experience of using a 4g router for internet usage where an internet connection isn’t available? What sort of speeds are available and how reliable is the connection (I guess that’s mainly down to the 4g signal). I’ve seen various models of router available - basically the greater the download speed, the more they cost - is there a minimum recommended download speed e.g. 300Mbps? All and any other information gratefully received.

I think when needed most of use our phones as a 4G hotspot. I truly don't know though how fast the download speed is for that method, only that it works about as quickly as the normal house fiber optic connection. I've never tried to stream anything of significant length when using 4G.

Streaming would greatly depend on your phone plan. Many throttle down speeds significantly after you pass a certain monthly data usage threshold.

Yes I did read about that Pete - I’m thinking of trying this option when I visit the UK for a few months rather than look for an internet subscription which are mainly based on 12/18/24 months contracts.

In the back blocks of Pak Nam Pran without fibre in the street, so using AIS 4G.

You can Hotspot your phone, althougth it depends on the download speed of your phone package AIS stops / then needs to be restarted after 1G of downloads. Annoying.

Purchased a AIS modem / Sim 1 year internet package online for 2500THB, unlimited speed to 100G per month before speed reduces to 128kbs (just did a speed test 31 Mbs). 2 users so we alternate between both.

That sounds promising- I’ve looked at 100 Mbps SIM packages in the UK which come out at £20 a month which is a lot cheaper than looking at a short-term internet package, although you do need a 4g router that will cost about £100, but that’s a one-off cost and then you can use it in the future.

I'm delighted with my recently installed camera system apart from one thing - playback on my computer. The cameras produce .h264 files, which I can easily play back on my phone. However, I can't get anything to play them on my computer unless I convert them first.

Many apps such as VLC and Media Player claim to support .h264, but even after jumping through all of the hoops to make .h264 work, I get zilch. Can anybody please put this rapidly insane person out of his misery, and tell me how to play back .h264 videos on my computer?

H.264 is Advanced Video Coding or MPEG-4 (MP4) which plays on everything. It looks like the camera is saving them with the wrong extension, there should be something in the settings to make the security system software save as .mp4 files as most dashcams do.

I have 2 options, .h264 or .h264+. I've switched one camera to ,h264+ to see if it makes any difference. Is there no simple .h264 player that I can install?
