Forgive me but I'm pretty certain you can renew your retirement extension of stay 45 days before it expires in any event.

There no special circumstances that apply to this as far as I'm aware

Does anyone know if Hua Hin Immigration now has started to require a new Tm.30 to grant a retirement visa, even if you have a notification of residence stamped in your passport and have not changed your address since the previous extension?
Thanks in advance

I believe not. I didn't need at last 3 or 4 renewal years

No, I haven't experienced that either. So, I hope it's just some simple specific stories I've read on the "other forum"

On the credit advice, I get monthly by e-mail from Bangkok Bank it is stated on the bottom: This is a computer-generated advice. No Authorized signature is required.

Anyone know if Immigration accept that or is it to be on the safe side best to bring twelve months with printed advice`s back to the bank and ask them to sign?

Thank you

For many years, immigration has accepted my computer generated credit advice receipts from Bangkok Bank.

Does the income to the Thai bank acc. have to be min 65k per month in 12 transfers, one each month, or are fewer and larger transfers equalling min 65k per month accepted by Imm when renewing Non-Imm O visas?

I'm not 100% sure, but they always seem to count 12 tranactions and ensure a minimum of 65K has been transferred each month.

When my family did my renewal for me earlier this week, that was the only discrepancy (I usually transfer more than the minimum 65K, and would easily cover the 12 month figure in 10 transfers), the I/O initially only counted only 11 transfers. My daughter asked him to check again, and he found the missing month.

In years past I’ve read about being able to use a hybrid approach where you keep some amount (less than 800k) in the Thai bank, then do monthly transfers (less than 65k / month). Immigration then does a calculation to confirm you met the financial requirement. I don’t recall where I read about this, and I never tried it myself.

According to everything I've ever read, it has to be 12 separate monthly payments, each of 65k or more. Which kind of makes sense because otherwise, if taken to its logical conclusion, you could send nothing all year and then 780,000 all at once, in the last month.

when you are married but go for the retirement visa with 800k bank balance, would you still need to show the same docs as under marriage visa? And would they accept a current account that will not go below 800k or alternatively a fixed deposit?

All you need to show is your bank book with bank letter and statements for the past 3 months and proof of address - I use my yellow book - no marriage certificate and although I wasn’t asked for one back in February, a couple I know were asked last week for a map of where they live and lo and behold a couple of days later, three IO staff arrived to take photos!!

Thanks DB, seems somewhat simpler than the 'thai wife' route... and that is what I am looking for

Anyone an input on the money, current account and/or fixed deposit
