richard,
I have never eaten in the current Buffalo Bills or the Hilton, but I have heard from many that the restaurants in the Hilton are excellent, regardless of how much they cost. Some have said that your comments regarding an establishment are only based on what you can get for free (which is of course great value), but places should not be judged on price alone. I am sure you now pay for every meal that you eat at Buffalo Bills because you say the food and service are now excellent and therefore I assume you are prepared to not only pay the full price but also a generous tip, which I also assume in the spirit of openness of this current thread Bill is prepared to confirm. However his establishment was previously vilified by yourself, so any critique you make of any eating establishment has to be taken with a pinch of salt from now on, as you were so easily swayed by a free meal the last time. Hardly the credentials of a credible restaurant critic are they? Essentially the love-in you are currently having with Bill's restaurant may well be deserved praise but does not come across as such, and to a cynic like me comes across as plugging because you get favourable treatment there and actually puts me off going there. I am not after free meals, beers or whatever, but I do want unbiased reports - for you to swing so wildly from hating the place to virtually living there (by the sound of it) does no credit to anyone. Fair play to Bill in his attempts to win over punters but this thread has become worthy of an airplane sick bag. :guns:

I'VE NEVER HAD A FREE MEAL ANYWHERE and would never accept one unless offered by the patron

Think you are talking sh1t man

ps I never 'vilified' his place. i merely questioned his standards and he very kindly responded and we met and agreed on all points concerned. Why are getting so panaroid about it all. Chill out man 8)

richard,
I am only basing it on what has been said on this thread! And i guess if the Hilton offer you a free dinner to 'change your mind' about them then you will refuse? (not that they will as they don't need to from all accounts). I am not having a go at Bills place but you did previously, and now you are slating the Hilton, so to me it seems that you are not exactly the best person to listen to when it comes to eating out, based on what others have said about the Hilton. As others have said on this thread, if you are unhappy about your meal complain to the restaurant - if they then do not satisfy your problem feel free to vent on here, but don't go back because they offer a free lunch! :guns:

I've eaten at the Hilton and was not impressed, but I didn't complain

I'll reiterate I WILL NOT ACCEPT FREE MEALS

Get off your horse and CHILL out :guns:

OK richard, maybe not a free meal, but your initial comment on the new Buffalo Bills was this -
Not surprised

Guess it's the infamous Buffalo Bills latest venture

Over the past 5 years I have eaten there twice and the food, service and management were crap

Steer clear. It's strictly for dumb tourists
To be strictly fair you were then offered a free beer by Bill to come back and try again which you did, but since then you have never stopped singing the praises of his place. Whether that is deserved or not, it has been way over the top and to me, makes your posts not credible, so your opinions on the Hilton or any other eating establishment do not carry any weight at all for me. I have to assume that if Bill had not made his offer of a free beer on here you would not have gone back the first time, and would have stuck by your first impressions. I think this is the point that JW and others have been trying to make - that you should give any place a few goes before judging them on an influential forum such as this.

Agreed again Redzone, this thread has certainly gone on a bit. But looking at one or two earlier comments i have to say that after a while in LOS on the local scran the tastebuds DO change, maybe more than we realise. As I've said before, never had a prob at all with Bills fish.
And as for earlier comments on music, fans and mozzies well, as any Farang bar/restaurant owner is well aware, while the cats away the mice will play. You can't turn your back for a minute without the music being changed or upped for one. But with the best will in the world you can't be there 24/7 either.
I for one will be straight round to Buff Tav come the glorious day - and mainly due to the publicity here!
Keep up the good work Bill - its not as easy as it looks.

Which one is it then? :?

You'd never accept a free meal or you would if you were offered one?

Blacksheep

What I meant was I WOULD NEVER ACCEPT A FREE MEAL BASED ON A COMPLAINT

I've had a few free meals where the patron has insisted that as a good customer this one is on the house

Subtle difference :D :D
