housedoctor wrote:General Anaesthetic for a Vasectomy is Boll*~ks if you will pardon the pun. A Vasectomy is a very simple and painless proceedure. The emphasis will be on following strict recovery instructions. You will be , or should be, advised to rest with your legs slightly elevated for at least 2 days. No physical activity what so ever for that period of time. No golf, no sex especially. You are at high risk of getting a haematoma (blood swelling) if you do not get absolute rest. If you follow your Doctors advice, happy days. Believe me.

Mine was too big a job for the usual local. Mine was done in a full operating theatre, although unfortunately I was concious the whole time. The pain was incredible, mainly affecting my stomach, chest and arms.
Recovery was about a week. My recovery did have a bit of a setback when after a few days my wife accidentally put her shoulder into my bollocks (don't ask).
You have me confused. You opt for a vasectomy so that you don't make any more babies. You don't want those little tadpoles causing trouble. The result is that you are sterile and don't send those troublesome tadpoles to do their damage.
Sterility is the result of a successful vasectomy.
Hmm... maybe you mean impotence which really does lose the point!!
Well Gents it didnt hurt me and I watched the whole procedure, very interesting but then I never have been squemish
I was told at the time that sperm can still be in the system and be viable for several months after and to have a sperm test before throwing away the condoms
You have some conflicting info here so do as I did with my problem and research it on the internet
Set up a word document then find sites on the subject and copy and paste anything useful you can find from several sites. when you reckon you have enough corrolate it all and you should be well informed.
Then make a list of questions you would want to ask a hospital and doctor who was doing the job, make sure your lady knows what you want to ask for she will probably have to do at least some of the asking in Thai.
Then go with your list to several hospitals, start with the new HH hospital as it is close, It is supposed to be the first port of call for the Royal family when in HH, if its good enough for the King.......
and no one seems to have been there yet and a report on it would be good.
Then go to Petcharet as it is also close to home and I have had good service there.
After that go to BKK try Phayathai 2 as I have been treated well there then go to Bunrangrad as so many people say its the best.
You will have to pay a consultation fee at each, for me its never been more than 300b
When you are happy you have been to enough compare the answers from each, including cost then make your decision, go for it, at which hospital, or chicken out.
It doesn't matter how much research you do, it'll still hurt.
One thing I didn't mention before was when you go back to these gits who tell you there is no pain, and you tell them how much it hurt, they'll either give you a knowing smile, or just agree with you. They suddenly remember the pain.
