I have just returned from that area yesterday, and for the last couple of days there has been heavy downpours of rain and low cloud hanging on the mountains.
Unfortunately, no amount of radar "machines" will stop this type of accident. They have already stated that the pilot was "inexperienced". That, combined with the potential loss of face if he refused to fly, will be found to be the cause of this sad accident.
